A team effort from New Farnley CC 4ths helped the team secure maximum points in their clash with Baildon.
New Farnley lost the toss and were put into bat.

New on field Captain Doddie and Little Focker opened the innings putting on a fine 42 for the first wicket before the youngster was clean bowled for 9

Doddie was joined by new boy Dippy, 18 runs were added for the third wicket before Doddie was caught for 52 (his maiden half century).

Lord Focker was next in but it wasn't long before Dippy was trudging back run out for four, quickly followed by Wayne Thornton who suffered the same fate

Debutant Dave Hill was next in and out followed by Mini who came out of retirement and straight from the golf course before being bowled with the score now on 117-7.

An eighth wicket stand of 71 between Kenny and Richard Inglis brought the total up to 188 before his Lordship was clean bowled for a fine knock of 78, quickly followed by Thomas Needham, and the declaration came leaving Baildon 189 to win off 49 overs.

Doddie and Richard opened the bowling and it didn't take long for the breakthrough to come, team captain Gaunty taking a fine catch off Richard and Baildon were 4-1. A 63 run partnership for the second wicket and 47 for the third shifted the balance somewhat in Baildon's favour but four quick wickets for 18 runs tipped it back again.

With a change of keeper and a stunning catch by Dave victory was in sight and was duly achieved when Kenny took Baildons last wicket with them 16 short of the target.

Richard and Kenny were probably the pick of the bowlers finishing with figures of 4-31 & 3-33 respectively.

A great team effort brought home maximum points and hopefully this will continue next week when we visit Esholt.
