Students, staff and parents have created a new name for the new build school which will see West Leeds and Wortley High schools merge in September 2009.
They chose Swallow Hill Community College to represent the area and the links the school will have with the community.

The school is being built as part of the £250 million building schools for the future (BSF) programme which will see learning in Leeds transformed with five new-build schools and eight refurbishments.
Education Leeds is working closely with the schools and the local community to support the transition and merging of the two schools into one.
Anne Wilson, chair of the temporary board of governors for the new school, said:
"Staff, students and parents felt it was important to reflect the local area and the school's community links in the new name. We wanted a name which showed just how much the new school will be at the heart of the community."
Bernard Knowles has been appointed as principal of the new Swallow Hill Community College.
Currently headteacher of Rhosnesni High School in Wrexham, he has already successfully led the merging of three schools and the new build of one under the reorganisation of secondary education within Wrexham town centre.
He said: "I am delighted at being appointed as principal for Swallow Hill Community College. It is a wonderful opportunity to provide a first class modern learning environment for our young people within the locality.
"Learning should be at the heart of any community and I am very much looking forward to working in partnership with students, staff, parents and the community to provide exciting learning experiences which allow all individuals to achieve."
Chris Edwards, chief executive of Education Leeds, said:
"Our Building Schools for the Future project is bringing some of the most innovative and inspiring learning facilities in the country to Leeds. These facilities are built around the needs and aspirations of our talented school-based colleagues, our wonderful young people, and their communities.
"Swallow Hill Community College is an exciting development in the second phase of our BSF programme which will build on the work at West Leeds and Wortley High schools, which are driving up standards and has made these schools real beacons of excellence here in Leeds."
