Armley Helping Hands.

ARMLEY HELPING HANDS

Armley Helping Hands is a registered charity supporting older people in Armley & Wortley District of LeedS. The charities aim is to provide facilities for the advancement of education, recreation and leisure time activities with a view to improving quality of life and reducing social isolation.

* The Charity was established on Monday 5th June 1995, by a steering committee of older people, carers and representatives who work with older people with in the local community. Over the last ten years the charity has developed from a small community group to a well established charity supporting over 1700 older people in the district of Leeds 12.
* The charity is fully operational five days a week, and has regular contact with over 284 older people each week in social activities capacity. Additional to social activity links, the charity provides one to one support to older people via the telephone or directly with in their own home.
